Our PhD student received the LPI Career Development Award!
We are beyond excited to share that PhD student, Trung, has been honored with the prestigious Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI) Career Development Award! This award is for recognizing outstanding graduate students who have submitted a first-author abstract for presentation at the 56th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference (LPSC) in 2025.
LPI announcement annotates the 2025 award as “This year, the LPI received applications from numerous countries across the globe, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Japan, Morocco, Puerto Rico, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The selection process was highly competitive, highlighting the outstanding quality of research being conducted by early-career planetary scientists worldwide.”
This award-winning research is the project of our PI Merve’s Swedish Research Council project (VR-2021-05859) and who supervised the PhD student during this period. The project focuses on the water retention ability of near surface icy environments of Mars. Our PI Merve expressed that - “As the PI, I am thrilled to see hard work and dedication from our group recognized with this prestigious award. This achievement also reveals the innovative research is going on in the Yesilbas lab.”
