We search for life beyond Earth - Together!

It’s a great joy to see our research group featured in the Umeå University News — where we share our passion for exploring life at the limits from extreme environments on Earth to the search for life on Mars. Our research combines physics, chemistry, biology and planetary sciences, and innovation with a vision: to push boundaries while building an academic space rooted in trust, transparency, and mutual respect.

I’m deeply grateful to my wonderful team and very proud of them for their integrity, curiosity, and daily courage to build meaningful science together. You are the reason this journey is so powerful.

We believe in creating a space where ambitious questions meet ethical research, and where future scientists grow with courage, care, and critical thinking.

Per aspera ad astra!
